Skies over Amsterdam….
by Esao Andrews for The Choe Show.
As you can probably tell from my blog, I am not much of a writer, occasionally I might feel compelled to say slightly more than the title of a picture, but I am of the belief that a picture can say a thousand words, so being nominated for this award humbles me greatly. It is a fairly surreal feeling that anyone would be moved by the same things that I am so when the one and only WidowCranky nominated me (ahem, stitched up), I felt firstly elated, followed by dread of having to write anything down, let alone think of answers and write questions.
What is the Liebster Award?
This is an award for new and old bloggers alike to get some recognition and interact with the blogging community.
So what are the rules?
Questions that WidowCranky asked and my answers:-
What inspires you?
The discovery and recognition of great Art. That Art shows us that man or woman, for all their shortcomings, can create the most amazing things.
What was your favourite book growing up?
Think it would be The Hobbit
Who is your favourite artist?
This is a tough call, as there are so many great ones. I have a true appreciation for Soey Milk, along with some genius lowbrow artists such as James Jean, Jeff Soto and many other visceral coloured, yet dark context pictures. I love street art namely the obvious Banksy, C215, Miss Van, Rone and my all time favourite DFace.
What is something that has moved you deeply?
Birth of my sons.
What do you find truly funny?
Dark comedy. Anything from “Peep Show” to “Inside Number 9”, and the plethora of the depraved and slightly warped that comes in between. Special mention goes to Seinfeld the best Sitcom ever.
What is your favourite beverage…alcoholic or otherwise?
Depending on the time of day… Coffee, moving through to vodka or gin. I find it is a good stable diet.
Do you have a quirk? If so what is it?
Too many to mention.
Do you think you are an inspiration to others?
I sincerely hope not! But actually do know that I have inspired one or two, so my stoic self-image of the faceless man is slightly tainted.
Marmite… yes or no?
…….i’ll keep the mystery alive.
If you could own anything, what would be your prized possession?
Piece of Art by Banksy
What grinds your gears?
That there are 11 questions ant not a rounded down 10….Also rudeness and lack of punctuality.
Now to get someone else to talk about themselves… 11 nominations:-
And 11 Questions…
So that’s me. Humbled and with a renewed sense of inspiration. I hope that you have enjoyed the insight to the man who just post pictures and you can make some good connections and find some more great blogs from this meagre post.
